Cookie Policy
Last updated: 3.6.2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Fairsquare (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on rebootfifa.com (the “Website”). It should be read alongside our Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle your personal data more generally.
By “cookies” we mean cookies and comparable technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage that store or read information on your device.
How we use cookies
We use cookies to keep the Website working, to keep our donation process secure, to understand how the Website is used, and to measure and improve our advertising.
When you first visit the Website, we show you a cookie banner. Cookies that are not strictly necessary – including analytics and advertising cookies – are only set after you give your consent through that banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the link in the Manage your preferences section below.
Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent, because the Website cannot function safely without them. These are explained below so you know what they do.
The cookies we use
We group our cookies into three categories: strictly necessary, analytics, and advertising. The tables below list the main cookies in each category. Exact names and durations can occasionally change as our providers update their services.
Strictly necessary cookies (always active)
These cookies are essential for the Website to work and to keep our donation form secure. They are set without consent because the service you have asked for cannot be provided without them.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Helps distinguish genuine visitors from automated traffic and protects the Website against bots |
| __stripe_mid | Stripe | Helps detect and prevent fraudulent payments by identifying your device |
| __stripe_sid | Stripe | Helps detect and prevent fraudulent payments during a single session |
| _GRECAPTCHA | Tells genuine supporters apart from automated bots when you use our donation form |
Our donation form is provided by Donorbox and processes card payments through Stripe. The Stripe and reCAPTCHA cookies above are used to protect the form against fraud and abuse. We rely on our legitimate interest in protecting our supporters and our donation process from fraudulent and automated activity as the lawful basis for using them.
Analytics cookies (set only with your consent)
These cookies help us understand how visitors find and use the Website, so we can improve it. They are only set if you accept analytics cookies in the banner.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose |
| _ga | Google Analytics (GA4) | Distinguishes individual visitors |
| _ga_[G-VHVY05SCK4] | Google Analytics (GA4) | Maintains session state for analytics |
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure Website traffic and performance. The information is used to produce aggregated reports about how the Website is used. Our lawful basis for this processing is your consent.
Advertising cookies (set only with your consent)
These cookies allow us and our advertising partners to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and to show relevant content on other platforms. They are only set if you accept advertising cookies in the banner.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose |
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook) | Measures and delivers advertising across Meta platforms |
| fr | Meta (Facebook) | Delivers and measures advertising on Meta platforms |
| _rdt_uuid | Measures and delivers advertising on Reddit |
We use these cookies to understand how our advertising performs and to reach people who may want to support our work. Our lawful basis for this processing is your consent.
Third parties and international transfers
Some of the cookies above are set by third parties who act on our behalf. These providers may process your information outside the UK and the EU/EEA, including in the United States:
- Cloudflare – security, performance and bot mitigation for the Website.
- Stripe – secure payment processing and fraud prevention.
- Google – analytics (Google Analytics 4) and bot protection (reCAPTCHA).
- Meta and Reddit – advertising measurement and delivery.
Where we transfer your information outside the UK or EU/EEA, we rely on a lawful transfer mechanism appropriate to each recipient. For providers certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension (the UK-US Data Bridge) – Cloudflare, Stripe, Google and Meta – we rely on that framework. For Reddit, which is not certified under that framework, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement and, for EEA transfers, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum where relevant), together with any additional safeguards we consider necessary. Further detail is set out in our Privacy Notice.
A note about reCAPTCHA
We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect our donation form from automated abuse. reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and how you interact with the form, such as your IP address, and sends it to Google so it can tell humans and bots apart. Google processes this information on our behalf, as our data processor, solely to provide the reCAPTCHA security service.
Managing your preferences
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time:
- On this Website: click the Cookie Settings link in the footer to update your choices. Withdrawing consent will stop the relevant cookies being set from that point onward.
- In your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Website, including the donation form, may not work properly. You can find guidance for your browser in its help pages.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it.
Your rights and how to contact us
Cookies that store information about you involve the processing of personal data. You have rights over that data, including the right to access it and to object to certain processing. These rights, and how to exercise them, are explained in full in our Privacy Notice.
If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy, please contact us at reboot@fairsq.org
If you are in the UK and have a concern we have not been able to resolve, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. If you are in the EU/EEA, you can contact your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in the law. When we make significant changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know through the Website.
